Adding a citation re: death

[edit]

I'm new at this, and can't find a format for adding a citation with a quote under the Terror, Thermidor, and deportation section - for the last sentence ending with [citation needed]. (I'm still reading through the Help files, and probably missing the section that'd help me.) It's not a source that covers all the information in that one sentence, so I'd like to add the quote somewhere - not sure if that should be done within the text or at the end with the references. Rather than create a mess I thought I'd add the information here in hopes that a passing editor can help.

Text: MacDonogh, Giles. 1987. A Palate in Revolution: Grimod de La Reyniere and the Almanach des Gourmands.

p. 35-36: "Despite his evident enthusiasm for the work, his ardour failed to impress Robespierre. The ninth Thermidor, however, prolonged his life a little while, until 1795 at least, when the Convention made him a scapegoat for the bread riots in Paris, and he died of fever on the way to the penal colony of Cayenne."

Text only mentions Collot d'Herbois in one paragraph as Grimod only was friends him in Lyons, before the massacres.

p. 36 "Grimod changed his mind about Collot after the massacres in Lyon, seeing the former actor as an embittered failure. 'This ferocious man took revenge on the people of Lyon for the countless boos he received on the stage there; he did as much for his former friends, who justly despised his insolence and his vices.' "
