WP:MilHist Assessment

[edit]

As indicated by the tag at the top of the article, this needs clean-up in general. The introduction needs to be better organized and better separated from the rest of the text; the text needs to be better organized and better phrased in general, overall. And something at the bottom - references, see also, external links, maybe some kind of nav template to other elements of the naval aspect of the Pacific War, if such a thing exists. Re-name/sort-out

[edit]

The title of this article is 'Japanese raiders in Indian Ocean Campaign' but a large chunk of prose concerns an action that took place in the Pacific Ocean (my emphasis and italics). Indeed, the Indian Ocean is barely mentioned. Also, the 'Last Japanese raiding action' section occupies a disproportinate percentage of this offering. There are many other 'rooms' for improvement; e.g. the introduction (see above) seems to have disappeared altogether, so I have scribbled a quick sentence or two as a temporary replacement. I think a major re-name/sort-out is in order, but it probably needs a reference to hand. What do others think?

It would be best to focus the article on Japanese raiding and submarine operations in the Indian Ocean. The article needs an awful lot of work. Nick-D (talk) 10:39, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest to splice off the last raiding action section into another article leaving only a breif summary here.XavierGreen (talk) 01:51, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
