current state of article

[edit]

it's a mess, i know. editors seem to have inserted numbers of unsourced and duplicated statements. i'm cleaning it up, but if anyone catches anything that's in there twice or more, please feel free to clip it out if it's unsourced.— alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 21:08, 15 October 2011 (UTC) The correct spelling of the name is Zlatovsky. Not Zlatovski. I am a relative.[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted. as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because I am requesting the move of Jane Foster to this article title. --  Bfpage |leave a message  13:25, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Bfpage: you seem to be confused. It was you who tagged the page for deletion, so you are actually contesting your own proposal now! Can you start by explaining why you want to move Jane Foster to Jane Foster Zlatovski? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:08, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I want to move Jane Foster to Jane Foster Zlatovski because there a number of articles that contain this name in their titles. I have already created a disambiguation page for Jane Foster that will help readers find the person that they are looking for. I first created the blank article Jane Foster Zlatovski because I assumed I could perform this uncontroversial move. Imagine my alarm when I was denied the permission to move the article. This triggered a speedy deletion and now I am waiting for an administrator to do the move for me. I am not sure at this point exactly what I did wrong, but things certainly did not turn out the way I thought they would. I had to scramble to contest the speedy deletion and now I am waiting for someone else to do the move...I have now requested the file mover user right so this won't happen again. I hate wasting the time of editors like yourself who have to clean up my mistakes.Best Regards,   Bfpage |leave a message  14:15, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is not possible for non-administrators to move articles on top of other articles, because that would delete history. This page has been a redirect since 2005, and it had a couple of entries in the history which prevented the move. I can help you with this, but first I want to check that we are doing the right thing. Would it be correct to say that this Jane Foster is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:23, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
