Biblioteka Polska Zbrojna Historia. 1.: Jan Kryst "Alan," a soldier in the Home Army, killed several Germans on May 22, 1943, in a retaliatory action at Warsaw's Café Adria. [...] Following the information provided by "Szyna," a meeting took place between the commander of Kedyw and his deputy and Kryst. The latter, explaining his fatal illness, expressed his readiness to carry out the most fatal mission against the representatives of the occupying forces. A different version on the motivation of "Alan" was indicated by his brother Zenon. He claimed that the illness did not threaten Jan's life, and explained his decision by his intention to take revenge on the Germans, which he had been carrying out since the outbreak of the war. It is possible that the exaggeration of the condition may have been a ploy to obtain permission to carry out a risky mission. [...] He received permission from the command to liquidate Gestapo men at the notorious Café Adria premises, and then, under the protection of two conspirators, was to make a breakaway from the scene of the action. [...] When another performance began on the dance floor, he drew his pistol and opened fire on the people sitting in front of him.

"Churchro" Typo?
