The result of the move request was: Move. As noted, WP:DAB indicates that disambiguation exists to distinguish between topics covered by Wikipedia. Currently, there are no other topics of this name covered on Wikipedia. As such, the views of the majority of participants prevail: the football player is the de facto WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. – I made this move earlier on the basis that there is only a single article on someone with the name "Jamie Grant". The disambiguation page contains one article (this one) plus 3 redlinked articles: Jamie Grant (actress) (deleted at AfD as non-notable), Jamie Grant (comics), Jamie Grant (poet). WP:PRIMARYTOPIC clearly applies as we have no reliable sources to show that these other people are notable, they are only included on the dab page under the weak WP:DABMENTION guideline which allows for links if they are mentioned in another article. My move was disputed by User:Midas02 citing the guideline Wikipedia:ONEBLUELINKDAB. That guideline doesn't seemed to have been well-debated (see the discussion) and I would argue that WP:PRIMARYTOPIC supersedes it. This article is clearly notable and sourced. Tassedethe (talk) 20:15, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. Tassedethe is mixing two different topics here. I created Wikipedia:ONEBLUELINKDAB because there was confusion on whether a dab page with a single blue link should automatically give way for a primary topic. I used to feel so, but many disagreed, hence the guideline was created to which no-one protested. If he wants to contest it, he is welcome to do so on the WP:DAB talk page, but at least the guideline provides clarity.
- On the topic of the move, which is the real topic here, there is nothing more notable about the footballer than the other people mentioned. Jamie Grant is a fairly common name, and no-one seems to have a single claim of fame on the name. Proof: some of the redlinked names have more internal links than the footballer. --Midas02 (talk) 20:26, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- Support per Tassedethe's argument. Flickerd (talk) 10:50, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, no primary topic 2601:541:4204:7760:B02D:2CDE:6206:DA8E (talk) 19:50, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- Support. Note well that WP:DAB is clear it only exists to disambiguate topics that are covered by Wikipedia. A redlink on a dab page does not amount to coverage, so there is nothing to disambiguate against in this case. Jenks24 (talk) 09:07, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
