Hello, this is my first attempt at a contribution to wikipedia. Obviously, I need to do some more research, please feel free to edit if you have any input.Gabenowicki 15:46, 12 September 2005 (UTC) good job at a first try you got many things quite right. Don't you think he is one of your favorite authors?User:Yodard[reply]

Good article. There is minor inaccuracy that I would suggest get cleared up.

1) Loewen et al. v. Turnipseed, et al. (488 F. Supp. 1138) was won not only on 1st Ammendment, but 14th Ammendment grounds as well. See Loewen's vita where he clarifies this point. CFiorello 18:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly having his students edit wikipedia article to cite him

[edit]

This Star Tribune article has a surprising allegation:

Young made the Wikipedia changes as an assignment in an African-American studies class she was taking from James Loewen, a sociologist and author of “Sundown Towns,” a book detailing how thousands of American communities excluded blacks and other minorities in the first half of the 20th century. Her task was to add information on racial exclusion to the Wikipedia page of one of the cities mentioned in Loewen’s book.

If an academic is marking his students on their editing wikipedia to cite him, that is a problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.43.26.173 (talk) 08:28, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Where are the critical studies?

[edit]

What seems strange to me is that nobody has included any studies that are critical of Loewen's annalysis of American history. I cannot believe there are none, but I know of none myself. I think the article could be vastly improved if there was at least some hint of a controversy about an interpretation of history and myth that is so fundamental. Do people simply not take him seriously?3world Kid (talk) 18:00, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
