Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <This article is about a FLDS Bishop, this is verified by reliable sources, thus he is a notable religious leader per WP requirements. This individual has also received substantial coverage from reliable sources detailing both how he is a Bishop of the FLDS, and substantial coverage (again, from multiple reliable sources) for his legal defense of polygamy. This subject clearly passes WP:GNG. Thanks.>. — Ism schism (talk) 19:00, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Speedy delete
[edit]I'll have to agree with the speedy delete. Being a FLDS Bishop is not notable by itself. FLDS bishop would be comparable to a Catholic priest or Lutheran minister. Being excommunicated from FLDS is nothing special and being arrested is nothing special. Bgwhite (talk) 21:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- There are only 2 FLDS Bishops!!! Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 22:24, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Bishop
[edit]This individual overseas the FLDS movement in Canada, specifically Bountiful. His arrest is special in that it was covered by multiple reliable sources over the course of a few years. This is a clear keep. Please answer how this does not meet WP:GNG? This is clearly a notable religious leader who has received substantial media coverage from multiple verifiable reliable sources. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 21:46, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Please see Religious rivals may get separate trials. This article in The Globe and Mail clearly shows how this is a notable person - definitely not a speedy by any means. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 22:13, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Also, MSNBC wrote 2 Canadian polygamist leaders arrested. Again, maybe not notable for good deeds, but this person is still an FLDS bishop, and also an individual who has recieved a lot of attention from multiple verifiable reliable sources. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 22:24, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
