As I understand it, James McAuley was brought up as an Anglican, and only became a Roman Catholic in adulthood, so cannot have "re-converted". - Respighi

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conferenced declared Pentecost 2012 to Pentecost 2013 a “Year of Grace,” several decades after McAuley’s death. So while his hymnody may have been republished under this title, it certainly wasn’t called that it his lifetime. I think maybe using a posthumous title is anachronistic? Besides which, McAuley’s and Connolly’s collaboration spanned decades, and produced fruit which transcends a single publication. Maybe better to remove the reference to the Year of Grace hymnody?

Peter Coleman's scathing review of Cassandra Pybus's book

[edit]

This review is worth a read, to help bring some perspective to the picture Pybus paints of McAuley. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 08:48, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
