Songs by James H. Rogers

[edit]

A librarian at the Library of Congress explained to me awhile back their decision to file some songs by James H. Rogers as being by James Henderson Rogers, a contemporary, on stylistic grounds. This is often a problem when all that's on the score is the part of the name that matches both composers - James H[enderson/otchkiss] Rogers and most people assume it's the only one of the two composers that they've heard of, as why shouldn't they?
