August 2011 template

[edit]

In addressing the issues raised in the 2011 template, it became clear that Grainger's poem The Sugar-Cane had become the subject of numerous articles since the scholarly edition of 2000. Summarising the often conflicting opinions raised in these would have unbalanced the biographical article on its author. It therefore seems best to dedicate a separate article to that work, as has been the case with the other English georgics, Cyder and The Hop-Garden, and that will be added shortly.
