Most of sources use both Jakup Ferri and Jakup Feri. Most of sources for both are Albanian and during Communist period which promoted use of "r" instead of "rr". Google search results favour Jakup Ferri. So make a move request and other editors can come here and vote. Nice try. Ktrimi991 (talk) 10:25, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That time was in the 1970s or so. I read in Arshi Pipa's works that Enver did a few other changes too like removing the i before a j so words went from being Vijosa to Vjosa or removing the vowel cluster ue (common in the gheg dialect) to just u making words go from being Buenë to Bunë etc. Names like Nijaz are spelt as Njaz etc. Because of Enver's regime it makes simple things like this here unnecessarily complicated. Ktrimi991, I see were your coming from with this. Should stay as Ferri.
Jakup Ferri descended from Kuči, but to call Muslim people from Kuči Islamized Serbs is just 1930s Serbian historiography. Today, that sort of labeling is unacceptable both in light of the available bibliography about Kuči's origin and the simple fact of life that people from Kuči use their right of self-determination in all sorts of ways and happen to live in a century in which they can do this freely. I only added the facts about his lineage as written by his descendant Naser Ferri. Also, he was born in 1832 in Plava, where his family was for at least five generations, Voice of Gracanica contradicts every other source in the article.--Maleschreiber (talk) 05:27, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
