I dont know how to link Jahvid Best to the SHS page as a Notable Alumni.

Lead

[edit]

Added well-sourced information about recent award history to introduction. CFPA trophy is Best's only national award in college, and is of clear encyclopedic value. Deletion of sourced material is unjustified as per basic Wikipedia policies and a violation of WP:NPOV.Obamafan70 (talk) 02:59, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't feel that the award had to be mentioned in the lead as it is mentioned in the infobox in the awards section and also in the body of the 2009 season. Not mentioning it in the lead is just not drawing immediate attention to the award. I disagree with your characterization about the deletion as being POV or a violation of policy - please AGF. --BrokenSphereMsg me 03:10, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
From the Detroit Lions bio: 2009 first sentence: 2009: Honored by the College Football Performance Awards organization with the 2009 Elite Running Back Trophy. The award recognized Best as the top performer at the running back position based upon the 21 games in which he participated over the past two seasons. Respectfully disagree here, though apologies are in order for failure to WP:AGF. http://www.detroitlions.com/team/roster/jahvid-best/11abe296-c547-477a-bf0a-01e05dae1295/ Regards, Obamafan70 (talk) 22:07, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
These awards are basically spam, which Obamafan70 is spreading all over Wikipedia. We discussed that already on WikiProject College football. Out of the lead with that crap! —bender235 (talk) 22:24, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Bender235, would you be so kind as to discuss the actual content rather than continually violating WP:CIVIL and WP:PERSONAL? As I mentioned, it's the lead sentence in "2009" on the Detroit Lions bio. Happy editing, Obamafan70 (talk) 22:30, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a whole lot in Best's Lions bio that we won't mention in this article's lead section. Those CFPA are minor awards at best. Mention them in the "College career" section, and they are well served. —bender235 (talk) 22:33, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Long runs

[edit]

I'd like to see someone add a paragraph about Best's long runs at Cal. I think he had more than six runs of 60+ yards one season, including two 80-yard runs in one game. He must hold some kind of record for this sort of thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.55.48.18 (talk) 02:59, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
