Hi @49ersBelongInSanFrancisco :) I just found your message in Alerts, thanks for the review. I've just started editing Wikipedia and this is the first article I've created. After learning about the rules, I've deleted some problematic sections and rewritten the content. Is there anything else you think needs to be modified? JulieBole (talk) 03:05, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
Hi @ Pahunkat! Thank you for the message. In fact, I am not sure if my situation is paid advocacy. I don't work for this company and won't gain anything from it, but I have some knowledge about this company. As a game enthusiast, I would like to start editing game-related content from this wikipedia entry. Can you help me to determine if this is paid editing? JulieBole (talk) 03:36, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hey JulieBole! Are you able to clarify why you're uncertain if your situation is paid advocacy? If you don't work for the company aren't being compensated to edit it, you don't need to worry about paid editing disclosure. You could have a conflict of interest if you're related to the company in some way - otherwise I don't see a problem in this regard. Pahunkat (talk) 13:05, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you@Pahunkat so much for your clarification and guidance regarding the matter of paid advocacy. Your explanation has been very helpful, and it eases my uncertainty about the need for disclosure. It's greatly appreciated. JulieBole (talk) 06:30, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
