Plot
[edit]The plot as described in this article follows the novel plot, not necessarily that of the film. Based on the Imdb casting list, Barr's sister Rosemary isn't in the film, nor is private investigator Jenkin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.200.125.54 (talk) 02:16, 19 October 2012 (UTC) Looks like it's been corrected. Pity. The book was better. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 23:32, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Grammar error in introduction
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
The last sentence before the table of contents has difficult-to-read grammar that is also wrong. The sentence is:
Its sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, based on the 2013 Jack Reacher novel, Never Go Back is currently filming with Cruise reprising his role.
The problem occurs twice and it is that attributions need two commas: "My dog, Spot, is cheerful today." The minimum change is to insert two commas, but it is still hard to parse:
Its sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, based on the 2013 Jack Reacher novel, Never Go Back, is currently filming with Cruise reprising his role.
This version removes the fancy structure and is easier to read:
Its sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, is based on the 2013 Jack Reacher novel "Never Go Back". It is currently filming with Cruise reprising his role.
Lede
[edit]Why is the working title listed in the first sentence? That is not standard practice for other movie wiki entries. ThreeRocks (talk) 11:06, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
date on quarter, serial number on Barr's rifle
[edit]The date on the quarter used in the meter is 1968. The serial number to Barr's rifle is 4862681. Doing a web search for "Jack Reacher 1968" or "Jack Reacher 4862681" will find multiple references for either if someone wants to add this to the article. Note that a search for "Jack Reacher serial number on Barr's rifle", will find a lot of references or video clips that just include the phrase "serial number" but won't include the actual serial number, making it difficult to find the serial number if you don't already know it. Speculation - 486-2681 could be a phone number, but prefix 486 is fairly common and used in many cities. Rcgldr (talk) 15:17, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
Links to Newspapers (reviews in particular) now Paywalled
[edit]Internet Links to Newspapers (reviews in particular) now Paywalled may be a problem with changes recently to the way they are now funded if you are not a subscriber, you won't get through. It may look as though the articles have been pulled, but they are mostly still there.
This will become an increasing problem. Not my circus, not my monkeys. But it will have to be thought about.
