Added what Jack Pierce created with his hands, this is since he gets little recognition on the landmark make-up designs her was responsible for. Electric Japan (talk) 10:41, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Movie?

[edit]

I went through and cleaned this article up a bit, but in the first paragraph the sentence:

"Next came the rictus-grin face of Conrad Veidt in The Man Who Laughs, , two silent Universal pictures that audiences were astonished with."

apparently is missing a second film. I tried to find it in the editing history, but haven't been able to in the time that I have today. CFLeon (talk) 23:36, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing film? I have to research that. I know there is a new documentary on Pierce. It's on the newly released 1932 version of The Mummy [DVD]. Electric Japan (talk) 16:08, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No missing film, just a little clumsy paragraph construction, to my reading.

The two films are "The Monkey Talks" and "The man Who Laughs." The sentence "The head of Universal, Carl Laemmle was won over with the creative outcome," separates discussion of these two films, so they don't seem paired together. Bustter (talk) 21:25, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Make-Up Creations

[edit]

This is all about design and image with the use of pictures. Nobody knows of his work, people identify with the image of the iconic creations. Yes, this is what Pierce created with his imagination, and what he is known for. This is thanks to the content added. Electric Japan (talk) 17:59, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article would benefit from copyediting

[edit]

IMHO the sections "Karloff", "Universal Studios Monster Maker", "Pierce and Karloff Reunite", and "Legacy" would benefit from copyediting to make the tone more professional/encyclopedic. -- 201.37.230.43 (talk) 03:47, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
