Irish inspector in the British Police

Is it explained somewhere along the series what Jack Mooney's origins are? Is he an Irish emigré from the Republic of Ireland to England who subsequently entered the British Police and made a career in it and then was offered the post in Saint Marie? Is he a London Irish or English of Irish descent? Or is he an Irish from the north of Ireland (under UK rule) who entered the RUC/PSNI over there or the Britsh Police after emigrating to England? 194.39.218.17 (talk) 14:36, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
