War service

[edit]

As I mentioned in my edit summary, there was another source which I thought might have more info about his war service and death. This was the 1939-1945 British Army roll of honour, available online from ancestry.com, based on records held by The National Archives. I've checked this now, and there's no further info that wasn't in the CWGC record.

I beleive the decision has been taken that WWII records will be transferred from the MOD to TNA, but it will be some time before these actually become publicly available. Once they do, it may be possible to expand the information with details of when he joined up and so on. David Underdown (talk) 11:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
