War service
[edit]In his The Tigers Of Old (1996) at page 43, Paul Hogan states: "Coles was a half-forward who later became a serviceman during the First World War".
I have been unable to trace any record of a John David Coles (d.o.b. 7 September 1886) in any of the records held by either the National Archives of Australia or the Australian War Memorial. Lindsay658 (talk) 07:36, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
