Notes column in Film section is a hot mess

The Notes column data under Filmography > Films is horizontally misaligned. Can somebody fix that? Thank you. Checkingfax (talk) 22:20, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure I see a problem. If you mean the "notes" column in the Films subsection isn't aligned with the "notes" columns in the other subsection - yes, the widths of those tables are chosen dynamically to best display the tables' content, not pre-set to a fixed width. If you think that's a problem, see Help:Table#Width, height on how to fix the column widths. If that's not the problem, please provide a more detailed description. June 2016 death reports, possible hoax

In the last hours, the Tenacious D twitter account has tweeted that Jack Black has died ([1], [2], [3]). However, this has not yet been confirmed, and there are reports that the twitter account has been hacked. Please don't update the article until his death can be confirmed or denied. To add "Youtuber" to the list of Jack Black's titles, succeeding his "...and songwriter" title, to add legitimacy to his YouTube channel, Jablinski Games with 3.3 million subscribers. Stoostoodoodoo (talk) 18:44, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

Not done: You've got the process backwards. As he becomes as well-known for his YouTube channel as he is for his acting, comedy, and music, more information will be added to the article and it can be featured more prominently in the lead section. Wikipedia is not the vehicle to make that "legitimacy" happen. See WP:PROPORTION. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 18:34, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Jablinski Games into Jack Black

Jablinski IS Jack Black. Catgirllover4ever (talk) 00:23, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Support. The article Jablinski Games can easily be merged and most sources are about actor-musician Black having a YouTube channel. Jablinski Games itself has received very little coverage. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 06:19, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Support Either this article needs to be expanded thoroughly, or it needs to be merged. Currently though, it doesn't seem like the channel merits its own article due to a lack of notable content, which is reflected by the current article length. Haydenaa (talk) 1:00, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose As Newsweek said “ JABLINSKI GAMES YOUTUBE CHANNEL ISN'T JUST A GIMMICK”.[5] It’s a separate topic and deserves its own article. ~ HAL333 05:22, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi HAL333, how is it a separate topic? Despite the title of the Newsweek article ("isn't just a gimmick"), it was written when Jablinski Games had four videos and comments "Jablinski seems like it's using YouTube as an excuse to do a fun family project". It's predominantly about Black's antics ("Before we start gaming, I have to drop a deuce"), and about his comedy career, with Tenacious D and Mr. Show, and about other celebrities making YouTube videos. Are there sources that discuss Jablinski Games separate from Black? WP:NOTABILITY is not WP:INHERITED, we need standalone notability for Jablinski Games. With the small size of Jablinski Games, it can easily be part of the article on Black. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Cocaine

Nowhere does the cited source say he was addictedto cocaine at 14 y.o. He said he had trouble with it and would steal from his mother to buy it but those statements do not necessarily make him an addict. If they did, I was addicted to watching soccer at that age. 217.32.38.128 (talk) 08:25, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

I'd like to ammend this complaint/comment with the fact it doesn't cite an age at all. "Teenage" can mean anything from 13 to 19, which is a very broad range. The language of the article should be amended to be less specific on the age. 104.246.154.59 (talk) 10:33, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Instagram: In 2016, Jack Black created an Instagram account. He has over 7 million followers and can be followed @jackblack. His posts holding a [Biden] mug, demanding justice for [Floyd] and memorializing Justice [Bader Ginsburg] indicate that he is a registered Democrat.  Not done: A Wikipedia article should not be a complete exposition of all possible details about the subject. If independent, reliable sources have discussed his social media presence in depth for some reason, that might be noteworthy for inclusion here, but just the fact that he has social media accounts is not. The conclusion that he is a registered Democrat would be us drawing a conclusion based on the source material and not permitted without a direct supporting citation. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 15:58, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

"Flimography" and "awards and nominations" sections have been defaced, article needs to be reverted/substantial editing requiring - 8 July 2021

Someone's either had a bad time editing or they're just a very annoying person. But Jablinski's page needs a lot of TLC right now and I have zero Wiki editing skills. Please help? [Previously unsigned comment by ——86.27.53.110 (talk)] 17:33, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

"Flimography" and "awards and nominations" were just recently added as blank section headers (04:28, 6 July 2021). I corrected this and made a change to the header hierarchy, but I don't know what TLC is needed. I do see a lot of filmography here for having a dedicated filmography article ——JavaRogers (talk) 20:01, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

That Rachel Siegel be added as a sister to Jack Black. This can be checked on multiple other sources and sites. Shannah21 (talk) 03:08, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Shannah21, thanks for making the edit request, but it appears that Rachel Siegel is already mentioned in the Early life section of the article. If you wish to add Rachel Siegel to the infobox, Rachel Siegel must be independently notable, see WP:Notability and Template:Infobox person#Parameters. Best-known roles...

I think Kung Fu Panda is among his most well-known of roles, but it's currently ranked as an afterthought. I propose finding a way to neatly tying this role in with his other well-known cinematic roles. I've temporarily divided voice roles and traditional acting roles—and maybe that's for the best—but I'm happy to democratize this intro section. Electricmaster (talk) 13:20, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Jack Black's portrayal of the character in the movie Nacho Libre has faced criticism for perpetuating racial stereotypes and engaging in cultural appropriation. The use of brown face, where a non-Latinx actor darkens his skin to portray a Mexican character, is highly problematic and offensive. It reinforces harmful stereotypes and fails to acknowledge the importance of authentic representation.
