Don't you think that this photo should be changed? You can hardly see anyone :P --AndrewDip (talk) 11:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

i agree change the photo or alternatively add a new photo to be placed at the top of the article and the existing one could be moved further down in the article--85.228.179.171 (talk) 19:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Section about 50 Cent feud with Ja Rule is F***ing Bulls**t!!

[removed comments] --WheezyF (talk) 20:11, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

What it says is that they have ended their personal beefs with Ja and Dre and Snoop made a song with him, which is true so get your facts right and get off 50's dick, 50 got butt raped and liked it like you probably would. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Signshare (talkcontribs) 01:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC) I can't believe there is no mention of the "feud" with 50 Cent. I mean, let's face it, Ja Rule's career was over after that. He got murdered in that battle; pun intended. It doesn't matter who you're a fan of, the fact remains that the 50/Shady/Aftermath versus Ja Rule feud is a huge reason why he's no longer relevant in rap. How many people really know... or care that he has an album dropping soon? Not many. He'll never be the Ja Rule he was on his first album, nor will he ever be relevant again in the rap game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.116.116.196 (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. It's ridiculous to have an article about Ja Rule that doesn't talk about the feud with 50 Cent. It's like having an article about John Belushi that doesn't mention his problems with drugs. CarolinianJeff (talk) 18:36, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

"Beef"/"Beefed"

Could users please remember that slang such as "beef" isn't appropriate for the masses? Not everyone is going to know what a "beef" is [Except maybe the meat], so could we keep it to non-colloquial slang, please? "Feud" or "altercation" are much more acceptable words. ScarianTalk 20:03, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Or grudge would be more appropriate depending on the context. Mcnichoj (talk) 00:16, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Neutrality

What a fucking clown! This article proves once and for all that Wikipedia is a publicist's wet dream. If they can make Ja Rule sound good, who is next, Jeffrey Dahmer?

It's quite obvious already... and it needs to be edited/removed.

The Music Career section is... how should I say it... sub-par. The content mostly concentrates on whether which album is "the best", and two albums claimed to be a "classic", without any citations. Frivolous adjectives and descriptions were used, and can a phrase like "Since Ja Rule was so successful during this period..." be factual?

The whole section seems to be wrriten by a Ja Rule fan, or like another topic states, a Grade niner. Other sections of the article seems to be too far-sided to Ja Rule, or against him.

If anyone is willing to tame this beast of an article, it would be greatly appreciated. I myself have contemplated if those unsourced remarks should be removed, but I'll waiting for any responses on this article's neutrality. Please reply. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits) 03:31, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

I cut them out. Trimmed it down to the facts. --WheezyF (talk) 20:08, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

No wonder this country is going into the shitter. If a clown like Ja Rule can get a puff piece like this written up about him, it is clear the country is going to the wolves. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.135.165.54 (talk) 03:09, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

What country are you talking about? Australia? The English Wikipedia is for every English-speaking nation on Earth... and there's at least ten of those.

Photo

Can we possibly get a photo from a bit further away? This doesn't look anything like the way I remember him. At the show I went to, he was a shapeless, grey-ish/blue-ish speck on the horizon, nothing at all like the vaguely humanoid speck near the middle of the current photo. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 19:45, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

For those who don't understand the usage of this concept on the internet, it's called being sarcastic.
Here is a better photo?
http://theybf.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/ja-rule.jpg
Don't know what show that was and not sure if it fits Wikipedia standards.
mcnichoj (talk) 00:14, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
A good rule of thumb: unless it specifically indicates somewhere that a photo is not copyrighted, it is copyrighted. (Also, on their main page, the cite labels everything as "Copyright ©2007 Young, Black and Fabulous, LLC".) Wikipedia generally cannot use copyrighted photos to merely show what a person looks like. So, we sometimes end up with some less-than-wonderful photos of people. That said, this one is really quite bad. Better than nothing? I'm not so sure. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 13:58, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

I can't even see Ja Rule in the photo, can we please have the album cover of Pain Is Love as his article photo? the album cover is already uploaded and you can clearly see Ja Rule!- SCB '92 (talk) 21:23, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

No, we can't use that. The album cover is certainly copyrighted. We can use that image in an article about the album under "fair use" provisions (essentially, there is no other image that shows what the album looks like and there is no way to create an non-copyrighted image of the album). That does not apply here: there are certainly other images that show what Ja Rule looks like and a non-copyrighted image of him could, in theory, be created by "simply" taking a photo of him yourself. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 19:28, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I`m pretty sure there are lots of photos on ja rule that is not copyrighted like those on www.imdb.com --85.228.179.171 (talk) 19:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Singles

Several songs of Ja's have videos which means, presumably, that they were singles, and some featured high profile artists like Ashanti, yet they don't have articles. Should something be done? If so, I don't know where to find the info on it, unfortunately, but I do think it should be added. SkylerSlywchuk (talk) 20:05, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Individual songs generally do not merit articles. The guidelines for which might can be found at WP:MUSIC#SONGS. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 21:04, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Ja Rule/Eminem Controversy

Why is there nothing in this article about the Ja Rule/Eminem controversy. For all those who haven't heard of it, I'll explain it:

Ja Rule said this on his song Loose Change: "Em ya claim ya mother's a crackhead and Kim is a known slut, so what's Haley gonna be when she grows up?"

Obviously Eminem was not pleased when this guy insulted his 12 year old daughter, his ex-wife and his mother in one go. So Eminem, D12 and Obie made a song called Hailey's revenge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4HW-7f0gGk ), where they also ask Ja Rule not to try to start a rap war. Nobody apologized.

I think something like this merits to be in Wikipedia, especially in the Ja Rule controversy section. Could someone please put this in? Shane291 (talk) 04:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

The Mirror was released online

I added with a cited source that The Mirror (original version that was to be out in 2007 and then 2008) was released online as a free download on 7/31/09. So let's not revert that fact. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 05:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Love Is Pain?

I have a 2007 studio album by Ja Rule called Love is Pain. No, i'm not getting it confused with Pain Is Love. It has a track with Lil Wayne called 'Uh-Oh' if that rings any bells. Anyway, I just thought it was strange that there is no mention of it in the discography. It's definitely a studio album. It's not a mixtape or unofficial compilation. Anyone know why it's not listed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.104.78.159 (talk) 16:56, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Controversy: 50 Cent

I propose that a subsection under controversy be created entitled '50 Cent'. As much as Eminem was involved, Ja's main beef was with 50, which still continues to this day what with the twitter beefs and all, so I don't see why there is a subsection labelled 'Eminem' and none called '50 Cent', however intertwined they are. TooVain (talk) 10:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I propose that the entire Controversy section first be cleaned up for use of ghetto slang and unencyclopedic prose. — QuicksilverT @ 14:24, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

"Years Active" edits by Cod101wiiowenjaquith

User:Cod101wiiowenjaquith has twice changed the "years active" for Ja Rule from "1994-present" to "1994-2009", and now to the somewhat nonsensical "1994–present or to 2009". Apparently this was done on the basis of the artist's entry at Spotify. This despite Ja Rule having released an album (Pain Is Love 2) in 2012, and other individual tracks since then. I'd ask Cod101wiiowenjaquith to offer justification for the change. As I've reverted twice already, I'd ask someone else to take a look. Rwessel (talk) 23:08, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

I am pretty sure it was vandalism, we have entries in the article that indicate music has been released since then, so it is kind of hard to assume good faith. STATic message me! 00:01, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Who is being paid to edit this page?

This gentleman is now most famous now for being involved in the Fyre Festival fraud, but from reading this article you get the impression he was on the periphery and a totally innocent minor character!

In 2016, Ja Rule co-founded Fyre Media, Inc.,[71][72] a talent booking agency, with Billy McFarland. In April 2017, the venture touted its Fyre Festival in Hamilton, Bahamas, as a luxury event, but it was widely reported to be a logistical failure, disappointing hundreds of ticket-buyers.[73] Rule and McFarland faced a $100 million class action suit.[74]

Sorry but from reading the Fyre article (which tells a whole different story) when events of such magnitude are downplayed to a few words in a couple of sentences, you can smell the paid editing a mile off. Oh and it's protected article too. Well you don't want to throw all that cash away for nothing - for blatant and shameless POV heh? 81.141.59.43 (talk) 14:03, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

I look for paid editing a lot, and I don't see any indication of it. The article is meant to be a full biography, not to unduly focus on a single event. The Fyre Festival incident is mentioned again in the legal section, where it states that By July 1, 2017, Ja Rule faced more than a dozen lawsuits filed by ticket buyers and investors in the failed Fyre Festival and his partner in the venture, Billy McFarland, had been indicted for fraud. I read the cited reference, and that statement fairly summarizes what it says. But we're not going to make half the article about it. I think both times, the summation that the event failed and resulted in legal action pretty clearly summarize the important facts. Obviously, the article about that particular event will go into a lot more detail, and readers interested in seeing more can visit that particular article. Seraphimblade Talk to me 16:32, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Nah I gotta agree with the previous folks....while I don't doubt your administrative capabilities, the entire Fyre Festival mishap has been distilled into barely a footnote on Ja Rule's long list of stuff. His tax evasion is given more credence than his role in Fyre Media, and he played a very large part in it. I'm not saying dedicate a six page spread to it, but more than two sentences. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.125.181.10 (talk) 20:38, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
