[edit]

I think that this entry should be expanded. I don't have enough knowledge of JD Sports to do it myselft, but I'm sure that theres more to add. A few examples might be their logo, their origins, online stores? etc. - Zestos, 22.11.06, 21:30 (GMT)

Fair use rationale for Image:Jdsports.jpg

[edit]

Image:Jdsports.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lead must summarize

[edit]

Added to lead (with three original cites, retained in article body):

In 2016 and again in 2019, JD Sports was profiled in British media amid allegations of mistreatment of its UK warehouse staff.

The lead is supposed to summarize important content from the article body. This rule is most often neglected, in my experience, with personal or corporation "biography" pages where the original author elected to put a single definitional paragraph in the lead, and then structure the rest of the article chronologically.

That's a fine way to obtain initial coverage of a subject matter, but over the long run, this isn't the preferred structure.

If there are other subject matters that also deserve summary in the lead, these should also be added. Any balance problem with the lead should first be resolved by bulking the lead out until it achieves a full topic summary. Then, if it still seems out of balance, perhaps some less important material can be cut. — MaxEnt 00:52, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
