A better start but needs a lot of work

[edit]

I'm a little tired of seeing the SourceWatch link and then a few edits later seeing whatever the article reference is one of conservative and Republican. As far as I am concerned if your not a socialist or don't fit within the view of the two people that runs the SourceWatch site then you are labeled a conservative Republican.

This guy was an eccentric to say the least. Head of the conservative Knight of Malta. What does that mean? Well it certainly isn't about the damn crusades. It's a typical Catholic organization of do-gooders that for one thing built 10 medical centers in Lebanon open to all regardless of race or creed.

He thought the government should be run like a business and was outraged when Bush senior, of read my lips fame, raised taxes.

He was like a kid with numbers. He loved accounting numbers.

So the article is going along very slow... someone includes the biased SourceWatch link and then someone decides that the guy must be, not only a conservative, but a "very" conservative Republican and puts that in as though there is even a shred of evidence to its authenticity, i.e., " J. Peter Grace (1913 - 1995) was a politically very conservative Republican and multimillionaire American industrialist and conglomerateur of Irish Catholic extraction."

Believe it or not there are rich Democrats (John Kerry, the billionaire, owns a plane that is probably worth more than Bush senior's net worth) and there are Democrats that not only have a gun but carry a gun, regardless what the two at SourceWatch says.

I suggest those that are so easily influenced by politics to find a political website to post and leave the encyclopedias to someone else.

Which at this point, I must say, I'm not an encyclopedia editor either, but I wanted to correct a complete fabrication and leave it up to you experts to clean it up and make sense of it. There are a lot more written about Grace. I don't know if he is a hero or jerk but at least try to get it right.

Good luck! --209.248.136.146 08:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Government infobox

[edit]

In light of the DOGE commission, should we add a government infobox since he was in charge of advisory commissions? 2600:100C:A217:4AA9:5988:CA25:1500:93D0 (talk) 03:20, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
