Based on this letter which was written on Friday February 5th 1915 and that states "We regret to record the death of the Reverend J.P. Sandlands M.A., vicar of Brigstock and Stanion which occurred at the Vicarage on Saturday morning", it would seem that Sandlands died on January 30th (the previous Saturday). Yes 30th of January is correct [1]. This is also verified in several newspaper reports of the time. Unfortunately my subscription has run out and they have put the prices up so I cannot get full access right now but there are some very interesting newspaper reports about Sandlands.
