Was he black or white? Normally not relevant to articles but given the connection with the school it would surely be relevant to this article? --109.116.141.31 (talk) 22:26, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The pronunciation of Fuqua is given as "fyookwuh"; however, if "his great grandfather, John Fuqua, is credited with founding the town of Fuquay-Varina," it's likely the pronunciation is "fyookway" (long A), which is a common way to say the name. Either pronunciation is possible, so there should be a source on it.
