I'd like to review this article, but I'm afraid that it is not currently within GA criteria. The main problem is that the page is majorly lacking in inline citations. Only 14 citations for 2600 words of text simply isn't enough. No way. At the moment, the page is basically full of WP:Original Research, with lots of unreferenced interpretations of his work and career, which goes against one of WP's core policies. There are also WP:MOS issues, such as stubby paragraphs and incorrectly formated references that make the page look a bit unprofessional. The thing that made me decide to fail this instead of put it on hold is that I see these suggestions were already made in a peer review and haven't yet been addressed. And that was over a month ago. That doesn't give me much confidence that the issues could be solved within a reasonable time frame, I'm afraid. Go through the article and I recommend (just my personal opinion) citing absolutely everything you can. It's not required but it gives total confidence to the reader that the information is accurate, and will greatly help you pass GA. And if you find that you can't cite it, then it is clearly OR and needs to go, so it's helpful in that sense. The page is well written, although some expansion - particularly of style and themes - would be desirable. Please renominate the article when this has all been dealt with, as the page definitely has potential. Good luck! --Lobo512 (talk) 22:53, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here, to help you develop the article and see the standard that's expected, take a look at these GA pages on directors: James Whale, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hooper (director), Henri-Georges_Clouzot, James L. Brooks, Kim Ki-young, Tetsuji Takechi. --Lobo512 (talk) 23:43, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
