Jading

[edit]

I've heard a lot of people say that continuous nudity brings about sexual disenchantement with regards to the human form; how do naturists respond to that sort of statement?

Pages was created because Social nudity was being flagged as being too long. Should we combine with criticism of the clothes free movement?

It came from the Naturism page, and itb has not yet been renamed, and might not happen at al. KimvdLinde 01:27, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm so happy you are interested in contributing with your opinions on the matter. User:Dandelion (talk|contribs) 02:26, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Footnotes

[edit]

Old ref system awkward for those of us who only started wimying in the last year or so, & does not allow things to move around fluidly. Would anyone be upset if I converted the footnotes to the newer cite (ref) format?Bridesmill 19:29, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hate the new ref format. People abuse them and make them into absurdly long footnotes. Its ridiculous - and anytime I try to make the wiki-side prettier, people put it back so that you can't find what the hell is a ref, and whats the stuff you wanted to edit. Horrible. Ed Lange and child porn

[edit]

The following sentance I removed from the article makes claims that Ed Lange of AANR was involved in child porn, though from what I gather the publications in question where never legally found to be child porn and the claims that they are seems to be based on Niki Crafts own personal definition of child porn and not U.S. law.

"She cites that prominent figureheads such as Ed Lange, editor of the monthly magazine of the American Sunbathing Association (ASA) (now AANR) have histories of involvement in child pornography"

The above statement implies that Ed lange's involvement in CP is not in question which is is. Unless a notable source can be back up the claim or the sentence is rewritten to reflect that this is merely her contention then such a statement should not be added back. --Cab88 03:04, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

landed and non-landed club

[edit]

What is a landed or a non-landed club? That needs to be explained, and why is it always specified "laned or non-landed clubs" - if its both they're just *clubs*. No need for specification if its totally redundant. Fresheneesz 03:52, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Landed clubs have property, non-landed clubs do not and typically travel to many different places. It is a significant difference. User:Dandelion (talk|contribs) 00:06, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

I'm not sure that the nudist articles in general have enough high-res pictures of naked people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.220.209 (talk) 10:49, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

'Handling incidents of sexual abuse and exploitation' section

[edit]

I have removed this section of the article, for several reasons: it was entirely unsourced, essentially composed of original research; it contained unsourced negative allegations about living people, which are not permitted per WP:BLP; and it was not written from a neutral point of view. Anyone who wishes to restore this content to the article should bear those points in mind. Robofish (talk) 02:58, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article crammed with PoV and original research

[edit]

This article is a complete mess. The erection section is particularly bad - it's all conjecture ("it could be said", "some may argue" etc.) Who needs it? Smurfmeister (talk) 23:46, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"most nudists and naturists condemn any sort of overt sexual activity" - I'm not sure if this remark is cited and I suspect it's false. In my personal experience masturbation is a pretty common sight on a nudist beach. Enkidu6 (talk) 12:55, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment

[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Issues in social nudity/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

* There are several instances of weasel words.
  • "Landed and non-landed" - surely these together encompass all clubs and thus we can remove the qualifiers?
  • Write brief summaries of the sections which are linked to a main article without any summary.
  • Provide more references.
  • Increase coverage of sections which have little content, or merge into some other part of the article.
