Suggestions[edit]

The first suggestion to improve the content is to discuss the 5 fundamental principles that are considered when working with ecological mechanisms: all organisms consume resources, require space, interact with difference species, live in dynamic environments, and strive to replicate their genes (reproduce). Then, zero in on the 'require space' concept which is central to determination of habitat for an organism.

The second suggestion to improve is Habitat selection as an evolutionary strategy more in-depth and to include the necessary equations that show the relationship between intrinsic growth rate, population density, and carrying capacity. In addition, explain how the equations can demonstrate the assumption that when there is increasing population density, the fitness will decline in a linear fashion.

The third suggestion is to include a section which can elaborate and expand on how the habitat selection developed by Morris contributes to the creation of maintenance of biodiversity as a whole.

Overall, the article is well written and details the work of Morris' many articles quite well in terms of the ecological theory he developed, and my suggestions aim to provide a little more basics and then expansion since he has published more works involving this concept.
