"O people!"/"Strike them with the sword" citation controversy

[edit]

Apparently the quoted in point 7, omits one sentence that completely changes it meaning. This leads to edit wars; currently wikipedia seems to be showing the improper citation. The text seem to be missing one sentence "Strike them with the sword". Perhaps some admin could change the text and protect the whole article so that it contains the true citation; not one that is doctored. The lede is awful

[edit]

The first sentence of this article is just awful in my opinion:

Islamic military jurisprudence refers to what has been accepted in Sharia (Islamic law) and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) by Ulama (Islamic scholars) as the correct Islamic manner which is expected to be obeyed by Muslims in times of war.

It just seems like some giant tautology, trying to stick in as much jargon and as many links as possible without actually saying anything. If you take the Islam-specific references out of it, it is basically saying:

Military jurisprudence refers to what has been accepted in law and jurisprudence by scholars as the correct manner which is expected to be obeyed in times of war.

Can't we say some something a little bit more substantial here? SJK (talk) 11:10, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
