Folks, i know this aint the best start, and I'd rather be using more scholarly sources, but its just to "get the ball rolling" - Any help here is much appreciated! --Irishpunktom\talk 23:01, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok finally someone actually puts their references down! Thanks, but your citation style is odd. Perhaps using one of the Wiki suggested citation formats might be more conventional. I prefer the Harverd method--Fenigan Brack 23:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Err, I shall read that tomorrow! I'm off to bed - These early mornings are a killer!--Irishpunktom\talk 23:12, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Potential

[edit]

I think this article has the potential to be a great one, as long as it conforms to NPOV. Are there similar articles about other minorites in the Soviet Union? I know that it used to be said "In the Soviet Union, all minorities dance." V. Joe 08:09, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kazakhstan

[edit]

Strictly speaking, Muslims do not constitute a majority in Kazakhstan (47% according to Demographics of Kazakhstan), and the number was even less under the Soviet Union. Pecher Talk 08:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source for this? --Irishpunktom\talk 09:32, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peresecution

[edit]

IPT, please stop restoring the nonsensical POV claim of "brutal persecution" of Muslims in the Russian Empire. "Brutal persecution" means consistent, inhumane violence, do you have any reliable sources fro this claim? Also, you have violated the 3RR by removing the tag, so please restore it.
