Removed "proposed deletion
[edit]The proposer no longer favors deletion -- see Talk:Moby-Dick#On the Lead once more. I agree that Ishmael (Moby-Dick) should be improved, but not deleted. ch (talk) 18:07, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Development of the page
[edit]The Ishmael page had two banners attached to it, "Unreferenced" and "Original research." These banners are now removed, because unsourced material has been removed and sourced information has replaced it. Should anyone disagree with the removal of the banners, please say so on this Talk page so that further improvements may be carried out instead of having these banners back again. Also read next item on Ishmael's name.MackyBeth (talk) 18:04, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
The Biblical name Ishmael
[edit]One section that is not yet changed is the section about Ishmael's name. The plan is for Monday 23 December to remove the few unsourced sentences and replace them with Nathalia Wright's insights from her Melville's Use of the Bible, which title already is included in the Sources.MackyBeth (talk) 18:04, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- The allegory to the Biblical Ishmael is now added, with Nathalia Wright as source.MackyBeth (talk) 18:13, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Title of picture
[edit]The title of the picture on the right says “Issac” when it should say “Ishmael”. I don’t know how to change it 2600:4040:54DD:1F00:F809:E70A:605D:D5A3 (talk) 00:11, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
