Completely an invention of user Xizilbash
[edit]The term Işıkçılık is used in the Turkish language for two separate currents of Islamic thought or interpretation: the school (Illuminationism) that follows the theology of Ibn Rushd and Suhrawardi and a conservative Sunni current founded by Hüseyin Hilmi Işık. The term Işıkçılık as used for an Alevi current of theology and the relevant content of the article is completely an original research of the mentioned user. - What makes you think that? And how did you come to this conclusion? (Xizilbash (talk) 20:45, 4 April 2010 (UTC))
- Mr. Behemoth. I will not allow you to delete this article without a mature discussion. Please tell me about your concerns.
- First: are you an Alevi?
- Second: what is wrong about this article? It is no lie, that there DOES in fact exist a new movement among Alevis, most often refered to as "Isik" or "Isikcilar". Have you even been following Alevi debates? Are you aware that the people who belong to the this movement call themselves "Isik insanlari"? And that they accept that "true Alevism has been discovered mainly in the past six years"? Or what is your level of knowledge about Alevism? You can not deny the existence of a late movement with alternative and "marginal" interpretations of Alevism. And you can not deny the relevance and timeliness of this topic. Make constructive criticism. If you think the article has a negative character towards this movement, you can either make the changes your self or point out the problems. If you e.g. do not agree with the name of the movement, you can change that too. But you can not deny the existence of a "late movement" with "alternative interpretations of Alevism". This is undiscussable. So deleting this article is no solution to your problems!
- Also using website sourcing should not be any problem. There are lots of articles only refering to website sources here in Wikipedia. There are many subjects in the world, that have not yet been dealt with in books!
- Please ellaborate or else I will report you to Wikipedia admins. (Xizilbash (talk) 08:35, 14 May 2010 (UTC))
# of followers
[edit]How many followers of Ishikism are there? 108.202.211.226 (talk) 04:28, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
Ishik-Alawism
[edit]Should be correct title in my opinion. Since their followers associate themselves with FLAME in Turkish language ALEV, and call their path as the "Followers of Flame" instead of the "Followers of Ali" which is a sub-branch of the madh'hab of Athnā‘ashariyyah Shia Islam.
Alevi
[edit]This term indicates their members are the "Followers of Ali" which is a sub-branch of the madh'hab of Athnā‘ashariyyah Shia Islam.
Ishik-Alawi
[edit]This term is being used for NON-MUSLIM ALEVI/ALAWIs as the "Followers of Flame" but NOT Ali.
Chinarism
[edit]According to the Erdoğan Çınar,[1] Mourning of Muharram is due NOT to The Twelve Imams, but The 12 Serviceman of the Temple of Muu.. Hence, Alevi/'Alawi refers to Luvians.

Questions
[edit]- Who do Ishikis worship? Allah or Mithra?
- Where do they worship?
- What do they considered as there holy book?
- How many Ishikis are there in total? Are there any in Syria, Iraq, Iran etc or in Europe etc
- When was the religion foundered?
- Is there anywhere where they make up a sight majority?
- What is the primary ethnic group that make up the Ishikis?
If anyone has the answers, maybe edit the page and put in the information, add anything else that is relevant to the religion that I have not asked as the page seems to lack some facts — Preceding unsigned comment added by Future deeplevel (talk • contribs) 18:01, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Suggestion to merge this page with Alevism
[edit]"Ishikism" is not a religion of its own. It's a pejorative term used to refer to a heterodox form of Alevi theology. Anybody who follows Ishikism still identifies as an Alevi. There's not enough material to warrant an article of its own. Also, much of this article seems to be negatively biased against its subject matter.
