Same as Isaac ibn Ezra
[edit]I was trying to work on some of the redlinks in WP:JE, and I came across this article. The subject of my article was also a follower of Abu'l-Barakāt al-Baghdādī and also converted to Islam. Is this the same person? Should I courtesy CSD my article and redirect to this one? Any thoughts would be great. Bkissin (talk) 17:05, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- Good work. Usually ibn/ben are both the same thing, son of. However, The fact that Isaac ibn Ezra was the son of Abraham ibn Ezra suggests that Isaac would be Isaac ben Abraham, and the ibn Ezra became more of a surname, which did happen. Whereas Isaac ben Ezra was ibn Shaprut. Or it can be chained, ie Isaac son of Abraham son of Ezra, Isaac son of Ezra son of Shaprut. So I don't think they are the same person necessarily, but maybe the article details are mixed up. Andre🚐 23:21, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
