[edit]Edited 11 Jun 05 to remove HMCS HURON from Ships listing, as it has been decommissioned.
'In 1995 Athabaskan was involved in missile firing practice on the Puerto Rican range. Due to absolute incompetence in the training of Nesop personnel, (they are the crew who actually fire the weapon systems)this ship almost shot down a German Tornado aircraft and most probably a civilian airliner. If not for a technical fault in the missile itself it is likely that one of these aircraft would have been fired at and destroyed. This event was covered up by Canadian Navy personnel. No board of inquiry was ever held into these events. ' This section should either be supported by a reference, deleted or labelled 'allegably'. I find it hard to believe such an incident could happen and then be covered up successfully. Too many nationalities involved. 145.253.108.22 11:00, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
These should redirect here, being the other name of the class, and independant of Tribal-class destroyer (1905) & Tribal class destroyer (1936) -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 04:37, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Suggested Edit - Move Dates of TRUMP upgrade to table
[edit]There is a table listing ships, information and life dates- but the dates that the TRUMP upgrade was done is listed seperated within a paragraph. I recommend move from there to within the table. Wfoj3 (talk) 20:02, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
Every detail about ship hull life in infobox
[edit]per Template:Infobox ship begin/Usage guide - Remember that the infobox, like a lead section, is meant to be a summary of the information that is provided in the article itself. To this end, avoid excessive detail or accuracy in the infobox; if required, elaborate in the article body. Llammakey (talk) 12:54, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- And yet information about significant rebuilds has been included in the infobox for ships elsewhere for years without problem. See Iowa-class battleship, Spruance-class destroyer, Italian cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi (1936), USS Albany (CA-123), HMS Rapid (H32), USS California (BB-44), St. Laurent-class destroyer, Restigouche-class destroyer, and Annapolis-class destroyer. These rebuilds have previously been considered significant enough elsewhere, including in articles you have contributed significantly to, to be included in such a summary due to the degree to which they altered their characteristics and fighting performance and as this was a universal program applied to the whole class it similarly belongs here. LifeBeyondLiving (talk) 01:18, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- It seems to be standard practice to include details of major rebuilds like TRUMP in the infobox, as LifeBeyondLiving mentioned. If it is not standard practice, other articles which do this should perhaps be changed according. MK Regular (talk) 01:37, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not an acceptable argument. But this seems like I am going to be outvoted on the basis of that so I am just going to unwatch this page. Have a good day. Llammakey (talk) 12:36, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
