General ideology, position within Marxism and Republicanism etc

[edit]

I think the article should had a section on the overall political beliefs of the IRSP, in particular how these stand relative to other Marxist and Republican organizations, how these views inform activism etc.

The earliest policy mentioned is in relation to the Good Friday agreement. I think the article should have more information on the overall policies that informed the creation and continuation of the organization before and after that.

Non-consensual murder

[edit]

There's not much mention in this article of the IRSP's support for non-consensual murder.--feline1 (talk) 13:38, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Connolly

[edit]

I propose to remove the reference to Connolly from the lede, as he died long before this party's formation. Alfie Gandon (talk) 17:29, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The party takes its ideology from Connolly, it makes no sense to remove him.Apollo The Logician (talk) 17:51, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's ridiculous to discuss someone in the lede who isn't then mentioned in the rest of the article. Alfie Gandon (talk) 18:11, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He should be.Apollo The Logician (talk) 18:29, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It might make sense to merge The Starry Plough (magazine) into Irish Republican Socialist Party, the former is pretty short and sparsely referenced. And it can always be split back into a separate article if references are out there and someone wants to take on the project of referencing/expanding it. Thoughts? Adding as a reminder to myself that the same applies to Saoirse Irish Freedom/Republican Sinn Féin Prezbo (talk) 12:48, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
