Angel Haze
[edit]That People link says "ex-girlfriend" but then it links to a People article that does not, in fact, support that claim [1] but only says the two kissed. Madonna and Britney Spears kissed — doesn't mean they're in a relationship. WP:BLP is very clear that unless there is confirmation from the subject or their representative, then a claim is speculation or rumor. We can go to RfC on this, but I'm sure WikiProject:Biography editors will not support unconfirmed personal claims. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:00, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Tenebrae: So what if it links to an old article before they confirmed their relationship? The People article says ex-girlfriend with no unnamed source as you call them so it is perfectly acceptable to use as a source. FYI many news organizations use unnamed sourced such as CNN and the Associated Press but in this case it is not used for the claim. WikiProject:Biography editors would accept it as People is well respected and has already been discussed as such. Naue7 (talk) 20:31, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Naue7: I agree that People is a respectable Time Inc. publication. But it's well-established that RS is not across-the-board — not everything in a reliable source may be usable. In this case, there is no "confirmation" from the parties themselves or their representatives. People tries to get around that fact by linking the words "ex-girlfriend" to an article that purportedly supports that claim. But that article does not — and an unsupported claim is just a magazine reporting a rumor, as People and Wenner Media's Us, also respectable, often do. And Wikipedia doesn't traffic in rumors. Frankly, it looks like it may be a publicity stunt to bring attention to their careers, which may explain why they've danced around it and tweaked the media but have never flat-out confirmed it.
- If you want to do an RfC, I'm happy to go along with that. In the meantime, WP:BLP is clear that with contentious personal-life material, we don't put it up until a consensus to do so is reached. We can't make claim about someone's personal romantic life without unquestionable confirmation from the parties, their representatives or public information like a marriag. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:38, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Tenebrae: Go for it but Angel confirmed they were a 'gay biracial couple' in The Independent interview and I see Ireland called her girlfriend in that Instagram on the page so doesn't really help your comparison with Britney Spears and Madonna. They are clearly now not together and People is the only source which can credibly confirm this if you exclude Daily Mail, Us Weekly etc. Naue7 (talk) 20:46, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Naue7: Fair enough. And we do agree that Haze said they were a couple. I'm just concerned that we need personal confirmation about any claims of a breakup. Let's do it here, and make clear it covers both articles. Sound OK? --Tenebrae (talk) 21:01, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Tenebrae: Sure, I'm just concerned the page makes it seem they are still together and I didn't want to cite Daily Mail. People are the go to for publicists even when the representatives are not mentioned such as when they confirmed that Caitlyn Jenner (formally Bruce) was transitioning and would of faced backlash for outing someone but was clearly her reps. Naue7 (talk) 21:09, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Naue7: Yeah, the Daily Mail is problematic, no question. I think we're actually closer philosophically that might have appeared initially. Before I write up an RfC, why don't I nose around and see if I can find something stronger in terms of breakup confirmation. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:14, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Nothing with any concrete confirmation at Us here. I'm seeing Perez Hilton, Radar Online, IBI Times, Daily Mail, The Mirror and other less than ideal sources. The New York Post also cites anonymous "sources." UPI cites Us and uses "reportedly."--Tenebrae (talk) 22:04, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Naue7: Still haven't found anything, and while we do know what Haze has said and what Baldwin has posted on social media, I'm still not sure they were really together or just punking the media for promotional reasons. This may explain why they don't talk about a breakup. In any case, what's written in the two articles right now is demonstrably accurate. When the subjects move on to other relationships, we'll add that and this should take care of any issues over untied threads, I think.--Tenebrae (talk) 14:48, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Angel and Ireland
[edit]So, I've wanted to put this in for a while, but there's no article or them saying it "officially".
I 100% believe that Ireland and Angel have broken up. Just by their activity on social media, they have no appeared on each other's social media in ages, and, if you were to look through their social media you would find that there are no photos of them together, they have all been deleted (the instagram photo of them on national girlfriend day was deleted). It was reported back in April that they have broken it off and I believe it just by the way they're acting is not how a couple would act if they are still together. Just my thoughts. News outlets also reported it as well back in April prior to Ireland going into the treatment place.
Now, I, along with a couple other people who have said such, do not want to keep misleading people into thinking they are still together when they're not. I do not think that they were faking their relationship for the media, I think that they genuinely loved each other and things just happened, as with a lot of couples, and they realized it was best for them not to be together. I know they were pretty open with their relationship, but that doesn't mean that they would talk about a breakup, who would? Just my thoughts. TheHiddenDemons (talk) 20:38, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Some couples announce breakups, others don't. In any case, all the above is personal speculation. An encyclopedia has to deal with concrete, verifiable, confirmed facts and not tabloid gossip. --Tenebrae (talk) 02:24, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Her views on abortion
[edit]Is anyone out there who could provide us with a good source of information on her stance on abortion? It just seems that she believes she did the right thing.80.232.241.132 (talk) 09:54, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
