[edit]This would be great to have updated with someone with a bit of local knowledge considering that the listing predates its reuse as a university campus - the site appears to be quite extensive and diverse and the details of what was reused as what would make for some interesting reading. I also wonder if this wouldn't be better at University of Southern Queensland, Ipswich Campus (aligning with that used for UQ Gatton), considering that most people would probably know it more as the university campus these days, and a good number of non-QHR sources seem to talk about in the context of something that became part of UQ. - I think it's one of those situations where I need to go and walk around and see what's what. I think it's also one of those situations where we need to distinguish between an article for the place and the article for the organisation inhabiting it. In the case of Gatton, it's been an agricultural college for many years so the institution name changed a little but not the use. But this site has been a mental hospital for decades and only recently a university campus and UQ built a lot of new buildings on the site; I am guessing a lot of the heritage buildings are probably not in active use ( rather like the student residences at QUT Kelvin Grove). - Both good points. Thought I'd raise the idea anyway. The Drover's Wife (talk) 00:22, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with what you're saying. It's quite unclear from the QHR entry what the current use of the buildings might be. Kerry (talk) 09:32, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- There's actually a 2009 history project I found by the campus library (formerly published on the UQ website but still in archive.org) that has the then-current usages of the buildings in the university, most of which are in use. I'd have added it to the article but the lack of a building-by-building breakdown in this article (like there is in a lot of big site listings) made it difficult to fit into the text and I never got around to it. - That's a very useful link. I think that combined with an on-site inspection should help to resolve a number of things. Kerry (talk) 00:38, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- The building appeared unused as of June 2016. - Shiftchange (talk) 21:19, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Shiftchange: Did you see the rest of the site at all? There are a whole bunch within the listing - the Blair Pavilion (the one in the article photos) is only one, and was unused in the above source as well. The Drover's Wife (talk) 10:58, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
