Ethnicity

[edit]

What was his nationality? I've heard Croat and Serb, what is true? He lived in Belgrade so I think Serb... User:Nexm0d

Lots of Slovenes, Croats, Bosniaks and Macedonians lived in Belgrade, so the fact that he lived in Belgrade can't prove much. I have searched, but haven't found any sources on his ethnicity. But then again, I don't think that it's very important of which etnicity he was... --Dijxtra 07:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but during the war? User:Nexm0d
Štulić spent more time in Belgrade than in Zagreb during the war. He published his authobiography in Belgrade. And he is a Croat. Kusturica is another great example. We need a real reference for Ipe's ethnicity, the fact that he lived in Belgrade is not enough. And, nota bene, it is not 100% sure if he lived in Belgrade or Vienna. I remember somebody said that he was in Belgrade only for bussines, and that he lived in Vienna (I'm not refering to the Bebek nterview quoted in the article, I read it somehwere else, but I can't remember where...). --Dijxtra 13:40, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kusturica is Serb? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nexm0d (talkcontribs)
It depends from which point of view you answer :-) --Dijxtra 14:22, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that he was Croatian."Ivandic"is not a Serbian surname —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.66.175.102 (talkcontribs)

Might be, but that's original research. --Dijxtra 11:42, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the "Serb" part out as I think it was inapropriate. Ipe was not a Serb and I find the whole term "Bosnian Serb" offensive. Why can't it just be "Bosnian", when there are no "Croatian Muslims" or "Serbian Bosniaks" to be seen anywhere?

I must ask you not to fiddle with this article and try to convince everybody Ipe was a Serb. Not until you have a solid proof of that. But I can tell you with certainty that he was NOT. So quit the silly game.
