What is the town's population? 92.16.14.163 (talk) 21:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Gaelic
[edit]A few sources give the Gaelic spelling as Inbhir Aoraidh which is much closer to the English pronunciation. (See Google search results for some examples.) Is this simply incorrect? Or is it a valid alternative spelling, or perhaps a historical spelling? 91.135.11.161 (talk) 03:46, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
History
[edit]Hello! A few suggestions for the formatting of the page! Adding a 'History' heading. Underneath that adding a full new section on the old town before the building of the new town. A full reformatting of the tourist attractions section. Editorguyeditor (talk) 14:16, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- Further to these suggestions, I have now added a new section with information about, and headed, The Old Town, which covers the history of the original town from the 15th century up to the 1770s when it was demolished. I added information about the original castle to the section headed “Inveraray Castle”. I also corrected the date of Queen Victoria’s visit as per Ian G Lindsay and Mary Cosh in their 1973 book “Inveraray and the Dukes of Argyll”. Under the Popular Culture heading I included a brief overview of Neil Munro, who was born in Inveraray (and linked to the main Neil Munro page). AlliePally (talk) 13:28, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
