Reference to family guy episode
[edit]From the Season 2 episode of family guy entitled Brian in Love, there is a cutaway gag about the Griffins and friends having an intervention for Peter wearing his giant foam cowboy hat. The dialogue goes like this
Lois: Peter, we have a serious problem we need to discuss.
Peter: Aw, jeez. This isn't another one of those interventions, is it?
[Cutaway to Griffin kitchen]
Lois: Peter, you've been wearing that giant foam cowboy hat for eight months now. Please, for your family, take it off.
Peter: Hey. Hey, I can take this hat off anytime I want. I just don't want to.
In this episode of How I Met Your Mother, nearly the same exact situation takes place except with Marshall and a Cat-in-the-hat style hat. The dialogue goes like this
Lily: Marshall, this is an intervention.
Ted: It's about the hat.
Marshall: Huh? No... I have it under control, okay? I can take it off whenever I want to.
Is this just a weird coincidence or can I put it down under the Cultural References section? - eSTeMSHORN (T/C) 12:53, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
