Issues

[edit]

This discussion is much too abbreviated to reveal the major issues surrounding ISC. For example, it totally ignores an Enron style shell game that was taking place with fake business offices, and fake contracts, all over the world. These were being used to inflate the company's net worth, and is what Ferranti bought into without knowing they were being defrauded.

Agree - this article is missing too much. ISC also also sold technology to China. They also owned the company that made the O-Ring that failed on the Space Shuttle Challenger that blew up. The bomb that injured Hussein's daughter during the first Gulf War bore an ISC logo. Basically none of this was covered in the US but was covered extensively in the British press.

Additionally, when people went to work at ISC, they were strongly urged to do their banking and have their mortgage at a local bank founded by James Guerin. That bank was involved in the whole mess as well. Then there was the James Guerin sponsored "Red Roses Tennis Classic" that featured the likes of a 16-year old Steffi Graf, Hana Mandlikova, and other top players at the time.

This also does not cover why ISC had all those planes & choppers and why the chopper went down the jungle of South America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.245.172.22 (talk) 23:51, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See also Marquardt, which has text on ISC, it refers to as ISC Defense and Space Group. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.231.107.107 (talk) 22:47, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've made some effort in cleaning up this article. I still think it's deficient but it's also certainly better than it was. Anyone want to improve on it, particularly the contributor(s) to the comments above? If you can substantiate and reference your statements, please do add them to the article!!
