I reverted to the broader list of categories as more descriptive of what INSNA does. I know a lot about it, I read all their journals, and this range of categories is documented in them. I will add the journals to the References. Bellagio99 15:36, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to merge

[edit]

Hi. When the issue of how many members claimed is settled, I propose that this article be merged with INSNA, as they are clearly one and the same organisation. I then propose a redirect from INSNA page to this page. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 12:02, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This merge has been carried out. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 00:23, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing this. I wonder what should be added to the merged page. A historical list of heads of the society and keynote speakers (award givers). INSNA already has such a list. A brief potted history. Possibly a brief set of key tenets. But for details of social network analysis as such, I think the cross-reference to the detailed Social network article should do it. Sunbelt round the head for being thick...

[edit]

Quote from recent article edit summary: "misguided link to Sunbelt conference -- link went to an athletic conference". Oops! My fault - slapped wrist. Sorry. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 01:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability is reliably established.

[edit]

1. THe society has > 1300 members, which is sizeable for a speciality area. Sizable. 2. Its journals and annual conference have been held since the mid-1970s. Longevity. 1 & 2 easily documented re links to society's own web page PLUS 3. There are 2 independent, professionally published histories of the society that are reference in the article.

If no substantive objection , I will remove the Notability caution on May 25.

Cheers,

Indented line

The notability claim is still there. Its been two years. Blurky (talk) 18:03, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just del notability questioning as inappropriate for major international society. Bellagio99 (talk) 21:59, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

According to their website, the name is International Network of Social Network Analysis, not International Network for Social Network Analysis. The article (including its name) should be changed to reflect this. Languagehat (talk) 21:38, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I withdraw the suggestion; I wrote them and they said the correct title has "for." I said it might be a good idea to change the website... Languagehat (talk) 19:04, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, the website is a mess. The executive is aware of it, and one day they will redo it. But it is definitely FOR SNA. I was there at the beginning. Sorry to put you out. Bellagio99 (talk) 13:09, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
