Promotional article

[edit]

This article clearly promotes an organisation and has been written by one of its staff members. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed including the lack of independent references and the affiliation of the author to the promoted institution. @GoingBatty Grateful for your thoughts. ~~ EditorialProject (talk) 08:41, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do you think is promotional? Please be specific. ElKevbo (talk) 14:14, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thank you for the opportunity to clarify now this article violates policy. All the references supporting this article are from the organisation (IIRP) that the article is promoting bar one. The resources will need to be neutral and not associated with the subject matter. The article was also written by someone directly linked to the subject matter and one of the references. I hope this helps. EditorialProject (talk) 15:46, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't seem to answer the question: What content in this article is promotional? Merely citing the subject doesn't make content inherently promotional. Nor are sources required to be neutral, just reliable. ElKevbo (talk) 16:45, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The sources are not reliable as they are all from the institution that this article is referring to i.e. they are quoting themselves to make claims that no one else or other source can verify. I believe this is clear enough. EditorialProject (talk) 08:06, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sources that are not independent are not always ideal but that doesn't mean that they aren't reliable. Please review our policy and practices around reliable sources. ElKevbo (talk) 12:59, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
