Sinixt and Okanagan/Colville et al.
[edit]If Okanagan is in "southern" why is Sinixt, which I thought was closely related and also Colville et al., in "Northern" with Shuswap, Lillooet and Thompson?Skookum1 (talk) 15:17, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Interior Salish languages vs. Interior Salish
[edit]Are both the same matter? Isn't there a difference between the Salish language and the cultural group?--Hans-Jürgen Hübner (talk) 10:20, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, there should be separate Interior Salish (peoples/cultures/history) and Interior Salish languages articles. Nobody's gotten to it yet, that's all. Have at 'er.....Skookum1 (talk) 13:11, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Interior Salish People migrating from the Coast
[edit]My name is Shane Giofu and I am a researcher on Sinixt culture and dialect. The article suggests Interior Salish Peoples moved into the territories they were historically found in sometime during the first millennium. This is factually incorrect. For example, Sinixt have archaeological remains in their territory with cultural markers fairly specific to them that date at least as far back as 3500 ybp. Specific burial and building practices that are not shared with all Interior Salish groups, let alone Coast Salish.
