Quick sync supported on Linux

[edit]

Relating on http://intellinuxgraphics.org/h264.html Quick sync seems to be supported on Linux for the HD 2000, HD 3000 and Ivy Bridge GPUs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.226.16.130 (talk) 23:55, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really desired that a certain proprietary software is advertised here? --195.37.61.2 (talk) 13:29, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Table of supported algorithms

[edit]

I would like to more clearly split the articles on Intel GPUs and on their video compression/decompression into two. That means the table currently found

would belong into this article rather. It would also be nice to make this table a bit clearer, like e.g. this:

A nice test site is: http://jell.yfish.us/

The links in See Also, when "visited" are given a color of white (#ffffff)

It only appears to be this specific page, I don't see the same behavior on other pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:4A:8202:CF71:D55C:ED06:D645:7838 (talk) 17:08, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Celeron Intel Quick Sync Video

[edit]

Does the current Celeron processor support Intel Quick Sync Video? I saw Haswell intel Celeron G1820 seems to support this technology 2401:E180:8D81:DBFB:81E7:1FE5:52C1:7AC7 (talk) 06:52, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Quality and Performance

[edit]

The Quality and Performance section seems quite out of date. Quick Sync has advanced a lot since 2013. Does anyone have any newer sources to update this section with? 159.196.163.98 (talk) 12:22, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Professional Video

[edit]

Just to expand on my recent edit, professional video environments never use h264 for editing. I-frame only codecs like DvxHD or ProRes are always used.

Quick Sync is not for professional video. It's for when speed is more important than quality, eg streaming to another device. C.anguschandler (talk) 14:47, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
