Category

[edit]

I have just tried to add this to the category "BBC Radio 4 programmes" but only got a red link. Would some with more expertise be able to add this programme to this category, please, so that the notice saying this article has not been added to any categories can be removed? Many thanks, Vorbee (talk) 15:35, 26 August 2017 (UTC) checkY It's done, the page has been categorised Abishe (talk) 14:57, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this article within the scope of Wikipedia: WikiProject Television, when Inside Science is not a television programme but a radio programme? Vorbee (talk) 17:09, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 Done – changed WP banner to WP:RADIO. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:19, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question about year of first broadcast

[edit]

Does anyone know when this programme was first broadcast on Radio Four? If so, this information could be inserted into the article. Vorbee (talk) 20:29, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Vorbee 2013, I believe, but that's just from the Material World article. Musiconeologist (talk) 00:32, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I believe this from July 2013 is the first episode (it begins by referring to itself as "the new science programme").
Edit: the date of broadcast is one week after the final episode of Material World. So it's definitely the first episode. I'll add it to the article, though not tonight (it's 3 am). Musiconeologist (talk) 03:00, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Presenters

[edit]

Adam Rutherford hasn't presented it for ages—my feeling as of March 2024 is that it's about a year, so it's probably longer. At the moment the presenter is usually either Marnie Chesterton or Victoria Gill, occasionally Gareth Mitchell. There are probably others I've missed. (NB this is just based on listening to it every week, not any written source.) Musiconeologist (talk) 00:43, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and updated the names. Fenrirtheyapper (talk) 19:19, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Fenrirtheyapper Many thanks! I made a small change to your edit, since recently is time-sensitive. (Obviously such expressions eventually become out of date—but also, readers don't know whether that has already happened.) Musiconeologist (talk) 02:43, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Producers as of Dec 2024

[edit]

For now, I've simply deleted the sentence naming the producers. The programme pages for recent episodes mention a number of producers, who aren't the two that were given, and without trawling through episodes it's not immediately obvious which of these work regularly on the programme.
