I don't intend to stand up for Ineos, they are big and ugly enough to speak for themselves! However, some of the information regarding the Unite dispute is a bit iffy. It was estimated that the final salary pension scheme would cost £16M per annum to continue - should be remembered that this is the cost as of that specific day - if the returns on investments went down (as they have, significantly since that time) then the company would need to pump in a lot more than £16M. I would also point out that saying that the Grangemouth facility makes "up to £3M a day" in profit is somewhat ambiguous. Firstly "up to £3M" simply means "not more than £3M" which could mean that some days it actually makes a loss! You would need to look at the actual annual profit and then take a view on how that is likely to progress over the next 20 years or so. It is also not clear whether the "up to £3M profit" is gross margin, delivered margin or operating margin. It does make quite a difference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.198.33.252 (talk) 13:55, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Head Office / Registered Office

[edit]

Can anybody please explain this? Which one is the legal headquarters, which the operative headquarters? If I understand this right 'registered office' means the legal headquarters, right...?

'Registered office' is not a headquarters per se but the address at which the ultimate holding company is registered.Rangoon11 (talk) 16:00, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Public Controversy about INEOS activities

[edit]

Recent articles and studies made by NGOs have revealed informations about INEOS. Should it be included in this article ?

Examples among others : https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/apr/03/ineos-leads-lobbying-effort-to-get-out-of-paying-green-tax https://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/insight/ineos-chequered-environmental-track-record-europe https://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/insight/chemical-billionaires-bid-fossil-fuel-empire-ineos-corporate-profile

There have also been articles on the links between Ineos and the Paradise Papers? http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/15670165.Exposed__Ineos_links_to_Paradise_Papers_firm/

I have the feeling that this could be included in the article to make it more balanced.

Conflict of interest tag

[edit]

I think this tag refers to User talk:Chemicals are life. As he/she has not edited the article since 9 Sep 2016, is it OK if I remove the tag? Mock wurzel soup (talk) 21:15, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
