To what study does "(Pinel 2006)" refer? I'm removing this unclear reference for the time being. Fuzzform (talk) 04:32, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm beginning to think that "indolamine" is synonymous with "tryptamine". After all, indole is already an amine, so "indolamine" must refer to indole + ethylamine. However, I can't find a reference for this.Fuzzform (talk) 05:05, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship to substituted tryptamines?

[edit]

Does this article describe the same class of compounds as substituted tryptamine? Is it a term used for e.g. neurotransmitters in particular, or endogenous rather than exogenous compounds? I think we could use a chemist here. Patallurgist (talk) 23:44, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Or is it that indolamines are more general, and the amine can be attached to the indole any which way? Patallurgist (talk) 23:47, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
