- Well, something must be done, because this and Indiana Jones IV redirect to each other. Alex 23:20, July 15, 2005 (UTC)
- I have moved the Indiana Jones 4 section from Indiana Jones to here. The article can always be moved when the final name is confirmed. -- Chuq 04:44, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
- When the name is confirmed this article should be the official article for Indiana Jones 4. Gwag 18:51 26, June 2006 (UTC)

Time magazine
The first paragraph of the article says this
- However, George Lucas stated in Time Magazine in May, 2005, that he doesn't plan to make any more Indiana Jones Film.
Now what's this? It's indeed a quite recent date, and it is like nullifying all the following article. A quite apparent contradiction which puts everything else in doubt. How official is the information and the links we have? do we have really an indication that Lucas changed his mind and that the Status paragraph that mentions him, is to be taken into consideration? Pictureuploader 00:30, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think that that line should be deleted, because there have been several even more recent confirmations that Lucas is committed to this Indiana Jones 4 film. Unless it's talking about an Indiana Jones 5, but I don't think it is.Mike 22:05, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- It is talking about films after Indiana Jones 4 as it says "after this one."
Rumors and Speculations
I urge people to please limit the amount of fan speculation that is put into this article. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan page. Just because some Indy fan posted something on his site about what he HOPES will be in this movie does not mean that it deserves any mention whatsoever in this article. As far as press rumors, it would be in everyone's interests to limit them to only those from prominent press sources (i.e. not blogs or small fan sites, as they are VERY unlikely to have any factual breaking news on them). If you have no citation for the rumor, please do not post it at all. The same goes for any other fan-type additions to this article, including fan-made posters, fan-made trailers, or anything else like that. Keep them out of this article. --Ilyag 07:51, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, this page is mostly just speculation at the moment. Trying to limit that stuff is nearly impossible with rabid fanboyism. Best to wait until this film is released and has aged a few months before even attempting to get it into an encyclopedic form... Jeff schiller
- I'd like to say that I don't think it's "nearly impossible" to limit an article from "rabid fanboyism". I keep my eye on articles like Spider-Man 3, The Dark Knight, and Wonder Woman, and we moderate these articles well enough. This is my suggestion -- be demanding of citations, especially when it comes to the title. Before the Batman sequel's title was announced, we only allowed Batman Continues in the article, because the director actually addressed that it would not be the title. Anything else would just be speculation. I also suggest doing a "Footnotes" section like those that exist in the articles I mention. As for purging the article, just tell people on the talk page what you want to do, and if there's positive or no response after a matter of days, clean up the article. Citations should be from official sources such as the studio, director, or producer -- not anonymous "scoopers". --Erik 14:25, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Indiana's real name
Wasn't his name "Junior"?
- That's Dr. Henry Jones Jr. to you! :P The Wookieepedian 22:32, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Filming a scene at Disney-MGM Studios Florida
My Disney Shareholder information (I received in the mail today) told of a Lucasfilm production being filmed (two scenes) at Disney-MGM Studios Florida from June 21 to July 10, 2006. It listed Harrison Ford as one of the actors in the film but did not specify the film's name. I think its obviously Indiana Jones 4.Gwag
- Interesting Pictureuploader 00:18, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe it's a Star Wars production set in The New Jedi Order era. The Wookieepedian 02:55, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

- I will be at Disney World for the screening of Pirates July 7, 2006. So I will ask Mr. Ford, at the screening, about the Indiana 4 so please put any questions I might ask him below. Gwag 18:55 26, June 2006 (UTC)
Timeline for Indy 4
I think the fourth Indy might take place before The Last Crusade but after Raiders of the Arc, given that the Temple of Doom was set before Raiders. But thats just a theory of mine. Gwag 16:46, 9 June 2006
- Well, considering that Harrison Ford turns 64 next month, (although he looks younger), I suspect it's going to be more or less with Jones that age, which puts it in the late 50s or early 60s. CFLeon 23:18, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- You never know. They might try to have him in his 40s.
Explanation for film
Here's a good reason to make this film, and to make a few more!: Indy and his dad drank from the Holy Grail in the 3rd movie! They'll live forever! Ya can't get rid of 'em! You can't stop making movies! (Unless the actors die) :( KdogDS 02:46, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the grail's power existed only inside the seal. That is the price of everlasting life, according to the knight. So the Jones boys are still mere mortals. The Wookieepedian 02:51, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly, because only an idiot would of forgotten that.
You would need to drink constantly from the Grail anyway. Not just once. SRodgers--65.24.77.104 00:42, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Indiana Jones game
Notice that a new Indiana Jones game is coming out mid 2007, http://lucasarts.com/games/indianajones/ might be hinting towards the release date of the movie. Gwag June 20, 2006
Possible Problem
Although the previous script was rejected the part that said "re-uniting Indy's girlfriends from all three previous films" cannot happen in the possible new script. In two of the films they did survive, but, in the 3rd film Alison Doodley's(?) character died in that crevasse. It was implied that Capshaw's character went back to wherever she lived because they don't "rip peoples hearts out" or something like that, although she can still return, but the 1st film took place after its sequel (Yes I said SEQUEL there is no such a word prequel, get over it, anyway) so, wouldn't that exclude Capshaw's character, leaving only Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) for possible return? SRodgers--65.24.77.104 00:34, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well my Oxford Illustrated Dictionary is quite specific that there is such a word as prequel, so it would seem to be you who needs to get over it. Binabik80 00:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
"June 2006"
The section about the movie coming out in 2006 needs to be changed, as it is now late July. Also: http://m-w.com/dictionary/prequel
It's in the dictionary.
It's a real word.

Cleaning up the article
I've inserted a Footnotes section so references can be shown in more detail. I've also added numerous requests for citation on various items in the article, such as the "rumored" titles, the "rumored" casting, etc. If there is no citation for these in the next few days, they will be removed. I will try to help locate citations for some of the items, but I would like to remind people that sources should be valid and not be the word of scoopers. One citation I don't like, by the scoopier "Napier", could be replaced by a more authentic source. Something like The Hollywood Reporter is fine. Fan-based speculation is not suitable for this encyclopedic entry and should be purged where necessary. We can lock down this article if we have the drive. --Erik 14:55, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Citations were removed
I remember checking this page a while back for the rumored cast and they all had citations (Variety, Hollywood Reporter etc) and now they've gone *sigh* Kim Meyrick
- Due to the citation requests being removed by another user after being posted for over a week, I've decided to go ahead and remove the rumored cast. Wikipedia is not a rumor mill, and so-called rumored cast can be added back in with the appropriate citation if the information comes from the actors/actresses, studio, director, or producers. --Erik 23:19, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Recent CNN news clip
Here's a recent blurb from CNN ... don't know how to work this into the article.

Summer of 2008
Can we please change this? It's not summer everywhere when it's released. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.172.4.44 (talk • contribs) 05:14, October 26, 2006
- I'm not sure how we can change it to reflect a universal sense. The thing is, summer 2008 probably refers to the film being released in North America, so it's accurate in that way. It depends on when ID4 would be released in other parts of the world. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 12:33, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
How about putting in the month rather than the season? Or the quarter of the year that it corresponds to (3rd quarter 2008 or whatever)
According to the Islamic calendar, the film will be released in 1429. Perhaps we should amend the article to reflect this. Intooblv 02:10, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Nathanson or Koepp?
I'm confused, in the status section of this page, it says that Ford, Harrison, and Lucas all approved Koepp's script, and are moving forward with that. Whereas in the story section it says that Nathanson's story is the one that's being currently used. So is the story and the script two different things, because I thought they were the same. If so then something's off, because they can't be using both scripts for the film, like the article implies. WIKI-GUY-16 17:18, 9 November(UTC)
Nathanson wrote, and Koepp polished, as I've now dug up. Wiki-newbie 18:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Revert
I've removed my (unwanted) contributions. I've reverted back to Wiki-Newbie's version, as he appears to be the 'owner' of this page and anything relating to the Indiana Jones character.Mikejstevenson 14:43, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not a close watcher of this film article, but I removed what was visibly inappropriate -- the unencyclopedic rumors and the fans' parody titles. This doesn't mean your other edits are invalid as a result. Wiki-newbie isn't the owner of this page, but he's improved the article tremendously since the film has been greenlighted. Since I'm not familiar with the rest of the article's content, I've asked him to review anything useful that you might have removed. Please don't consider the removal of unencyclopedic information as a personal attack on you; there are policies all editors need to adhere to. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 14:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
