Factual Errors in the Article

[edit]

I noticed two factual errors in the article.

First the image shown is not of the species found in Kachchh Wild Ass Sanctuary. The correct image is shown in the news article [1]

Second error is mention of salt mining. The way salt is made should be called salt farming rather than salt mining. Salt mining technique is used predominantly in few places in Africa and south America, where existing salt bed is mined for commercial exploit. The technique used in Kachchh and Gujarat region, relies on sea water. They draw water from tube-well or high tide water, collect in large open land and allow it to dry in sun-light, which leaves behind the salt and evaporates the water. pruthvi 12:22, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1) Correct Image imported from article on Indian Wild Ass; 2) Salt mining changed to Salt panning which is the method used here.

NOTE: This and the related articles need now to be expanded, please look at "Further reading" section to start your research.

The website link given in the website section leads to a website that gives this result to me, "Not Found The requested URL /destination/details/12/80 was not found on this server."

Sorry if this is not how you're supposed to point out issues on wikipedia, I'm kinda new to this. PanshulTheFirst (talk) 13:15, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
