Expansion

[edit]

Every opportunity should be taken to replace citations referring to the Pacific and Atlantic studies with ones specific to the Indian Ocean as these become available. Anarchangel (talk) 07:50, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Duplication of effort

[edit]

I note that there is much duplication of effort between this article and Great Pacific Garbage Patch and have started a discussion about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Oceans#Oceanic garbage patches. Please comment there rather than here. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't a "duplication of effort", it is just that it was a huge copy/paste from the Pacific article here. Large chunks of material in this article were related with the Pacific patch, the oldest known and the most famous one. Since the WP:CFORKs are unmaintainable, I removed all tangentially related material. Maybe the articles could be organized better, as you suggest, but now at least we have all major material on general genesis in one location. No such user (talk) 10:30, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
